Part 4 How Do You Stop Thinking (and enter the glorious present)?
On the third day of walking, we woke at dawn, for one of the most memorable days I’ve experienced. We passed two Kogi children, on a mule.
The path climbed uphill, beside a rippling stream, and beneath tree tops where I stopped to gaze at a toucan. I was caught up by Stella and Isabella, two young Dutch doctors, who endeared themselves to me, by catching me, as I slipped on a mud bank, on the first day.
They were interested in why I’d gone on this hike, and when I revealed my secret plan, they were horrified.
BUT WHAT WAS THE PLAN? DID WE EVER GET TO THE TOP OF THESE STEPS AND SEE THE LOST CITY? WHAT HAPPENED IN THIS STORY? FOR NOW IT’S BEEN MYSTERIOUSLY WITHDRAWN.
